QLV prioritises you and your eyes

What we do:

Queensland Laser Vision is proud to be the first Laser eye surgery centre in Brisbane. Our surgeons established the practice as a local boutique practice in Brisbane dedicated to improving people’s lives by striving for clinical excellence along with patient care. We have been performing Laser eye surgery for over 29 years and have been privileged to help thousands see clearly without glasses or contacts.

Confused if LASIK, PRK, Trans PRK or SMILE is best for you? Our in depth assessment will determine the best treatment appropriate for you and your lifestyle, both now and the future. Patients appreciate our honest approach – we will only recommend what is best for your eyes.

There is no cost or obligation for your initial assessment and the consultation with your surgeon is also free of charge. We have absolutely no hidden costs or fees and all of your follow up visits are included.

Our QLV surgeons are dedicated to providing you with the best possible results. Vision correction outcomes can be reliant on the technique and expertise of your surgeon. Our doctors have not just been operating on eyes for 29 years, but specifically have been performing Laser eye surgery for this time. This provides them with a trusted skillset based on experience and outcomes to advise what is best for you to gain the best possible results.

Your Assessment – What to expect
  • Allow 1 hour of your time

  • Wear your glasses

  • Leave your soft contact lenses out for at least 3-4 days prior

  • Leave RGP/hard contacts/Ortho-K lenses out for at least 2-3 weeks prior

  • Bring sunglasses: Your eyes will be sensitive to the light and glare

  • DO NOT DRIVE after the assessment as your pupils will be dilated

During the assessment we use eye drops which will dilate your pupils to gain more accurate scans and measurements. Their effect usually lasts 3-4 hours, but can last up to 24 hours. Reading vision will be blurry for around 3-4 hours.

Contact lenses make the results inaccurate, so it’s important to follow the above guide.

If you’ve never had laser eye surgery before, your initial assessment is free. However, if you’d had laser eye surgery at another clinic in Australia, or overseas, and you’re now experiencing visual change or need a check-up, a consultation fee will apply.
