Longsightedness, also known as Hyperopia can be corrected by Excimer laser surgery
Long-sightedness is also known as hyperopia and is the result of the eye's lens system not being powerful enough relative to the length of the eye. Young people can compensate for this by using their focusing muscle to increase the strength of the lens. This constant effort often results in headaches or sore eyes.
As hyperopes get older they can't compensate as well, so their close and eventually their distant vision begins to blur. As the images we see are brought into focus by the cornea as well as the lens, vision correction can be achieved by the reshaping of the corneal surface.
Using our state-of-the-art laser and computer technology, the cornea can be made steeper and more powerful. As a result we can correct low to moderate amounts of hyperopia.
